NUGA and AGIF Launch Pink Motion 2026 to Drive Cancer Awareness Through Sport
The Nigerian University Games Association NUGA has partnered with the Alex and Grace Izinyon Foundation AGIF for Pink Motion 2026, a nationwide campaign using sport, movement, and community participation to raise funds for the Grace Cancer Fund and support people affected by cancer. The partnership will connect the campaign with students, university staff, clubs, and university sports communities across Nigeria.
Pink Motion 2026 will run throughout October, with participants able to run, walk, or cycle and track their distance through platforms including Strava, Garmin, Apple Health, and Google Fit. Participation is open to individuals, clubs, and corporate teams, with leaderboards tracking individual and team performance. The campaign also includes a golf competition and opportunities for participants to support fundraising for the Grace Cancer Fund.
The campaign aims to raise ₦15 million in 2026, building on the ₦10.1 million raised through the 2025 edition, which launched the Grace Cancer Fund and supported six people with cancer treatment and related costs. Participants can join for free, with optional paid packs offering additional benefits including a digital bib, finisher medal, branded shirt, and access to the closing event.
The campaign begins with registration and mobilisation in September, followed by an International Day of University Sports activation on 20 September and the start of the Movement Arm on 1 October. The final activity cut off is 29 October, with the Pink Motion Closing and Awards taking place on 31 October 2026 in Abuja. NUGA participants will register under the official campaign code PMWCO 03 to support tracking of university participation.
