Nigeria Journalist, 11 others selected for FISU Young Reporters Programme in China

Sports Journalist, Hassan Abdulsalam, and 11 other young sports journalists have been selected for FISU World University Games, Young Reporters Programme in China FISU announced the list of the 12 international Young Reporters who will cover the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, from 28 July to 8 August. The FISU Young Reporters Programme (YRP) and in partnership with AIPS, the selected participants will help cover the competitions on all FISU platforms. The Pulse Sports Nigeria journalist is the only African selected and will acquire a broader experience and enhance their skills which should boost their beginning journalism or digital media career. Three high-level mentors, Michel Bélanger and Stéphane Jobin (from FISU) and Riccardo Romani (from AIPS) will provide them with training, coaching, and daily assignments and reviews. The Young Reporters will also benefit from lectures given by experienced professionals. Hassan will be joing Annika Saunus from Germany, Julieta Boschiazzo From Argentina, Louis Gilles from France and Miha Trošt from Slovenia. Others include, Andjela Cegar from Crotia, Noor Saleha Salem from PHI), Pedro Consoli from Brazil, Miriam Celebiler from USA, Netra Venkitasubramanian from India, Ana Brenčić from Crotia, Hassan Abdulsalam From Nigeria and Piotrek Przyborowski from Poland. Reacting to the selection, Hassan acknowledge that the Program will help him to learn and contribute to his Skills. “I am truly honored to be a part of the Young Reporters Programme in China, and I am looking forward to the enriching experiences and valuable learning opportunities it will bring. I am eager to contribute my skills and passion to the program,” he said. Hassan started his journalism career in his first year in Moshood Abiola Polytechnic with Press Club and Naira Sports, he interned with Platform times and Premium Times as a Sports journalist. During his undergraduate days in MAPOLY, Hassan freelanced with AIPS and the Nation Newspaper before becoming the President of Press Club in 2021.
