At the Nigerian University Games and across major continental competitions, Mustapha Ruqqayah Kemi of the University of Ilorin has consistently delivered outstanding performances in track and field, earning recognition as one of Nigeria s leading student athletes in the throwing events and making it onto our NUGA Scoreboard Spotlight.

A specialist in discus and shotput, Ruqqayah has built an impressive record within university sports. She emerged as a double champion at the FISU NUGA Games in both 2023 and 2025, dominating the womens discus and shotput events. Her performances extended beyond national competitions, where she secured a gold medal in discus and a silver medal in shotput at the 2023 West African University Games.

Her excellence continued on the continental stage at the All African University Games in 2024, where she clinched gold in discus and added a silver medal in shotput, reinforcing her position as a top tier athlete within African university sports.
