One Ball, One Flag, One Future Initiative Opens Applications to Expand American Football Across Nigeria
The Nigerian American Football Association NAFA, in partnership with Browns Nigeria and NFL FLAG, has officially launched the One Ball, One Flag, One Future initiative, a nationwide programme designed to expand access to American football and create new opportunities for young people across Nigeria.
The initiative seeks to strengthen grassroots sports development by providing equipment, learning resources, and development support to schools, communities, and organisations across the country. Through this collaborative effort, 2,000 footballs and 5,000 flag football sets will be distributed to eligible institutions and organisations across Nigerias 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
Applications are open to primary and secondary schools, tertiary institutions, community organisations, youth development programmes, and registered American and flag football league teams. The application window runs from June 25 to July 24, 2026, providing interested organisations with the opportunity to become part of a growing national movement promoting participation in American football.
Beyond equipment distribution, the initiative aims to create sustainable pathways for leadership, inclusion, and youth development through sport. By increasing access to flag football at the grassroots level, the programme seeks to encourage greater participation, develop future talent, and introduce more young Nigerians to the educational, social, and personal development opportunities available through sport.
The One Ball, One Flag, One Future initiative reflects a shared commitment by NAFA, Browns Nigeria, and NFL FLAG to expanding the reach of American football while building stronger sporting communities and creating lasting opportunities for young people nationwide.
