UNESCO Opens Nominations for 2026 ICM Martial Arts Education Prize
The International Centre of Martial Arts ICM, under the auspices of UNESCO, has opened nominations for the 2026 ICM Martial Arts Education Prize, recognising individuals, groups, and organisations using martial arts education to create positive social impact.
The annual award celebrates outstanding contributions to youth development, womens empowerment, safer communities, and the inclusion and rehabilitation of vulnerable groups through martial arts education and related initiatives. It aims to highlight programmes that use sport as a tool for education, leadership, social development, and community transformation.
Eligible nominees include individuals, institutions, and organisations that have demonstrated measurable impact in advancing these objectives through martial arts. The winning nominee will receive a USD 10,000 cash prize, a certificate, and a commemorative plaque in recognition of their achievements.
Nominations are open from 27 April to 6 July 2026 23:59 KST and can be submitted online through the official ICM Prize portal at www.icmprize.org
The initiative reflects UNESCOs continued commitment to promoting the educational and social values of sport while recognising innovative programmes that empower communities and inspire positive change through martial arts education.
